Luvanda Dagenais

We love nominations for #Amplifriday where our community takes the time to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of individuals making our world a better place. Today we have a double nomination for a remarkable person of impact who is supporting people throughout the Kamloops region on their recovery journey, and that’s Luvanda Dagenais.

There is a lot of “luv” for Luvanda as her colleague Leann Kopytko writes: “Luvanda Dagenais is an incredibly special human being whose heart is always anchored by genuine compassion. Since 2013, Luvanda has been a valued member of the Day One Society team for over 18 ½ years! She has dedicated her professional career to helping support people throughout the Kamloops community and has helped many young people to find their place in recovery. She is an organized, dedicated individual with years of experience who has worked in various settings including correctional, school and community-based care.

Luvanda has a gentle, inclusive and trauma informed approach to counselling which creates a safe place for those needing to feel heard and to be seen.

For the past four years Luvanda has been the Substance Misuse Youth Counsellor for Twin Rivers Education Centre and Four Directions School where she has provided drug and alcohol education, referral and counselling supports, and is also considered an important part of this multi-disciplinary school team.  At Day One, Luvanda also maintains her position as BCGEU/Health Science Professionals representative supporting staff on a professional basis and is an active Co-Chair for the Wrapforce Committee with A Way Home Kamloops. In her personal life, she advocates for all who suffer with LYME Disease. She is a committed friend to those who know her personally and a second-level reiki therapist. Every day we are grateful for Luvanda as she exudes her goodness into our team and this community, so we feel she is truly deserving to be Amplified in this special way! Thank you Luvanda, we are so proud to call you one of "us" at Day One.”

Echoing Leann’s sentiments, Haley writes: “Luvanda is compassionate with her clients and meets them where they are at. She is personable and easy to talk to as a counselor and knows how to step in and make change.”

Luvanda – you are a remarkable person of impact. As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

Last week, we had the privilege of amplifying Luvanda Dagenais’ incredible impact. As part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individuals and Luvanda chose the BC SPCA.

I am an animal lover, much like the two individuals who nominated me.

The BC SPCA is a provincial non-profit organization whose mission is to prevent cruelty and to promote the welfare of animals through a wide range of services, including cruelty investigations, emergency rescue and treatment, sheltering and adoption of homeless and abused animals, humane education, advocacy, farm animal welfare, spay/neuter programs, and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

Congratulations again, Luvanda, on being amplified; we are happy to make a $100 donation to the BC SPCA in your honour.
