Penny Heaslip

Today, the #AmpliFriday spotlight is shining on Penny Heaslip with a thoughtful and inspiring nomination from the incredible Tricia Sellmer.

Tricia writes: “I would like to nominate Penny Heaslip for AmpliFriday. Penny was a pioneer in teaching critical thinking and impactful in helping to develop many nursing students' careers at Thompson Rivers University. She welcomes diversity and uniqueness and has the innate ability to listen to all voices and stories to help solve problems. She readily adheres and shares this same critical thinking to the difficulties of abstract painting with fellow emerging artists at the Casa Decor's Art Collective. Penny is a remarkable and generous woman who has given, and continues to give, to so many in our community!”

True to Tricia’s nomination, Penny is a woman of impact! She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She attained a Masters of Education from the University of Victoria and began her nursing career as a staff nurse in general surgery and obstetrics. She moved into teaching nursing and has taught Post-RN students and has written many publications on critical thinking. Clearly, Penny is driven and has impact not only within the healthcare sector, but also in her community – a shining example for so many to emulate.

Penny – you are a remarkable person of impact! As is our team at Amplify Consulting Inc.’s commitment, we will donate $100 to a charity of your choice to further amplify both your remarkable impact and the charity’s.

We were proud to amplify the remarkable impact of Penny Heaslip last week. As a part of AmpliFriday, we donate $100 to a charity of choice for our amplified individual, and Penny has chosen the Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism Society.

"Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) have a better chance in life through early intervention for their development as they grow. Through the society, parents and caregivers are provided support for their children and learn how to aid their child's development best."

The Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism Society believes that all individuals with ASD should have the opportunity, whenever possible, to integrate into their school and community and become fully participating members of society. The Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism's mission since 2002 has been to provide these individuals with educational, therapeutic, life skills and family support services.

Congratulations again, Penny, on being amplified; we are pleased to support the Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism Society by making a $100 donation in your honour.
